Boundaries That Build Security: Limits That Create Safety

Setting Firm, Healthy Boundaries While Staying Connected

Boundaries aren’t about control, they’re about security. For children who have experienced trauma, limits can sometimes feel threatening instead of protective. In this one-hour, trauma-informed workshop, parents and caregivers will learn how to set firm, healthy boundaries while understanding why children with trauma histories may react with anger, defiance, anxiety, shutdown, or power struggles.

With 23 years of hands-on experience supporting children and teens with sensory sensitivities and trauma triggers, this workshop brings together When a child’s nervous system has been shaped by unpredictability, even healthy limits can trigger fear of loss, rejection, or loss of control. This training brings together practical strategies that are tested, refined, and proven effective in real-life moments—not just theory.

Participants will learn why consistent boundaries matter, how children respond to limits based on trauma, and how to hold limits…
